New York City
I really love NYC and hope it stays safe there. I wish they could bring back Rudy Giuliani. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudy_Giuliani. He made New York great. I live in Baltimore and feel safer in New York than I do here. On a recent trip before Christmas this is what I did. Can't do this in Baltimore ....Actually this started in November when once again my daughter and I participated in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. This year we were Christmas presents that walked along side of the Dora the Explorer float. It was great. India Arie was a bitch though. But that's ok I still had a great time. Finally got to go back to New York right before Christmas. Went on Mega Bus with my daughter. This was a Christmas present for me. Yay...It was raining when we got there. We went and ate at the Excellent Dumpling House. They have the greatest food. Went over to eat a desert later in the evening at Serendipity but the wait was about an hour. My daughter spotted the Roosevelt Island Tram so we went for a ride on that. Awesome. Then it was back to Serendipity for a Sundae. Ok but not worth the money. The decorations are cute though. Then we went to Bloomingdale's and then to Dylan's Candy Bar. Had a lot of fun at Dylan's just looking at the candy and of course eating some. Then it was off to one of my favorites....THE ROCKEFELLER CENTER CHRISTMAS TREE. BEAUTIFUL. Then it was time to go back to the room to pass out and get up Monday morning to go Chelsea and run into CVS to get my daughter's birth control pills. The huge Christmas trees that were for sale outside made me want to buy one just to take it back to the hotel room at the New Yorker. Went to Whole Foods at the Time Warner Center for a turkey dinner. We went to Columbus Circle and saw the holiday market and a beautiful tree and ice skating going on there. Got D some hand lotion from Sabon. We walked through Central Park where a guide wanted a picture with my daughter the police officer. We walked to Strawberry fields where she took my picture next to the stones that spell out IMAGINE. We then went to the New York Library looking for books but lo and behold all of the books are buried way underneath the ground. If you want a book, you have to request it and then they send a note down under somewhere. Your book is located and then brought to you. Then we went and stood in line to get tickets to see Mamma Mia. It was great and my first broadway show on Broadway. Then to Juniors for a turkey burger and fries. Time to go back to the room and pass out again. Got up and went to Grimaldi's Brick Oven Pizza. http://www.grimaldis.com/ Best pizza in the whole world I bet. Then with a full tummy went to Macys to see Santa. Got our picture taken with Santa and the best daughter in the whole world. Then outside to look at the windows. Yes Virginia, there is a Santa was the theme of the Macy's decorated windows. Miracles are all around us. I know because I just had a three day miracle in New york City
