WHY CAN'T I SLEEP? AND THE MACY'S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE

Here I go. Another night of missed sleep and another day of being tired tomorrow.
Well all I was finally in the Macy's Day Thanksgiving Parade. I was a mailbox. It was awesome. I had never been to the parade, but it is nothing like on TV. The floats are bigger than anything I could have imagined. We got on a bus. We arrived in New York about 5 in the am. We had to wait until about 6 am. We were then in line to get in the hotel. We got checked in and then were sent to find out what costume we were to wear and what float we would be escorting. After, we got into our costumes, we were then taken by bus and dropped off close to where our float was. We had to stand for a long time. The bands are placed next to the parade route. The balloons are placed on side streets. I had to go to the bathroom. I took off my costume and ran to a doorman. I asked him if I could use the bathroom. He took pity on me and escorted me down several flights of stairs and through rooms with pipes in them and finally to a small janitor's closet. I was afraid I was to be murdered and not get to be in the parade. I went to the bathroom and went out to the hallway to find that I had been left there. I have no sense of direction so I just started running up and down stairwells and halls yelling "Help Help". Being in NY no one seemed to hear me, so I just ran around, up and down until I finally found a person who led me to the door. I was not late. I then got excited and waited until about 10 oclock. The truck pulling the float actually moved a few feet. I was waving like a crazy person only to stop and wait. It was still great. And then I heard my float called....The voice over the loudspeaker had welcomed my float to the parade....And I waved and waved and people were cheering and wanting me to give them high fives.. The people that were watching the parade actually cheered us on...A few times I grew tired but people kept cheering us on. I had to run a few times to catch up with the float when it was turning on Columbus Circle. The end was in sight..The turn onto 34th Street. People cheering and waving from the buildings. The people on the float dancing. And then it was over. We turned in our costumes. We were given coffee and then we were on the bus on the way home to turkey dinner and our families. We had recorded the parade so we watched ourselves over and over again. It was a great day and to everyone in New York City. Thanks you so much for cheering us on. We had been up all night and had waited so long to be in that parade and all of you made it so worth it. All I can say is everytime I get off that bus when I am visiting New York is "I love this town."

Why are religious people mean?

I work with a woman who goes to church every Sunday. She is always "just peachy" when asked how she is. Sometimes she targets someone and tells them they are headed down the wrong road and that road will lead to hell. She tells people this if they are Catholic. She tells people this if she just gets a feeling. She is a salesperson that works on commission. She looks people up and down when they walk in the store. I notice that if they are not dressed to her expectations, she tries not to wait on them. She has made customers cry. When she gets pulled into the office by the store manager, she usually just listens and then brings the boss, who is also a religious lady flowers out of her garden.

I noticed in church one day a mean woman who goes to church all the time complaining to another person about how they should not let non-Catholic kids go to a Catholic Church.

So here I am judging these people.....when I gossip...So here is a thought...Maybe God put these people in my path for a reason.

Medication

Does medication fix crazy? I called the doctor because my dad is on yet another anti-depressent drug. The doctor told me that if he takes the meds, it will most likely fix the physical side of his depression. What I want it to do is fix the personality. That's not going to happen, so I will deal with it. I don't think it will help the paranoia of a 82 year old man who thinks people are out to get him. For example, a 90th birthday surprise for his sister turned into him having a nervous breakdown and getting a doctor's note saying that he was unable to travel to attend the party. So my relatives get a doctor's note written on a perscription pad stating that he cannot travel at this time. He often speaks of 40 years ago when my aunt gave a beer away that my mother had bought for someone else. I had to go get meds to keep from jumping out of a window.
